This car had plenty of power and was super fun to drive. This was the first time I had ever driven a WRX. My good friend asked me if I wanted to take it for a spin, and since I've always wanted to drive one I said yes. Maybe I should of said no. I loved the way the turbo sounds when it kicks in as I rev it up to feel how much power it has, thinking to myself, okay I need to be careful this isn't my car. For those of you who know me, I am a man that likes adventure but as long as I feel safe doing it. I am NOT an extremist. I haven't really ever been in a serious situation, never been in a wreck and like to have control of my little world. Heading out onto the highway, I open it up and it's at the speed limit in no time, just barely getting out of first. Heading out of town the speed limit is 55 mph and can't wait open up some more. Passing lane ahead...sweet, drop to third from fifth and she's gone. Shifting to fourth and well time to slow down....Way Down! This was my little fun moment for the evening, we turned around and headed home when I decided it may be fun to take the back gravel road back to my place. Entering the first corner, not speeding, I downshifted and somehow seemed to break this all wheel drive beast loose. Of course it's the only spot on the entire road that has no guardrail, a twelve foot drop, and the road naturally slants toward the ditch. My world was in slow motion for the next 60 seconds, which seemed like eternity. Oh look a stump as we hit the stump I notice the airbag deploying and then the car flipping over, stretching across the drainage ditch. Dead silence........the next thing I hear is CLICK. My buddy undoing his seat belt and I followed suit. Then my world sped up again to normal time. Where is the way out? The roof is caved in a little, "Dan kick the window out" my buddy exclaimed. We both tried but it wouldn't break. A burning smell started to creep in with smoke, and then I knew we had to get out now! We then noticed that the car was still running. As my buddy reached over to shut it off I hit the back door window as hard as I could with my elbow, in a panic of burning to death, the window broke. We crawled out with a couple scratches and a bloody nose. There was no fire. After the scene was investigated the sheriff decided to not write me up for it would damage my perfect driving record. But used it as an example for my boys, who came out afterward to get us. He said that if it would of been them this would be written up for sure. God is so good, I praise God that I walked away from that and it's a constant reminder that your life end in a blink of an eye...are you ready? Jesus came that we may live and if we make Him Lord of our lives we will be ready for anything, even death. We all have our time to go, and it's apparent that I'm to be here longer, God has my life planned out and what the enemy tried to do, he failed. I thank God for my TRUE friends and family. And if you're wondering about the aftermath of the car and finances. He found a car he payed cash for that is worth more than he paid, and the insurance payoff for the totaled Subaru is more than he owes on it. Now the joke is that when I hit the stump my OCD kicked in cause it's dead center of the license plate as you'll see in the video. I came up with a new saying for you Subaru owners out there.

"Friends don't let friends drive their Subaru's." Here's a short video I directed with original music created from a software program. The title I came up with was so fitting because not only did God's grace and protection abound, my buddy had just as much grace with me. Hope you enjoy, God Bless.
